The Medal Winners
- You will need to have a current newspaper or information from the web listing the medals won in the Olympics along with the countries who won them.
- Have your students find out the fraction of medals won by each country based on the total number of medals awarded.
- You can have them do this center for two weeks or continuously in order to compare the change in percentages throughout the Olympic games.
- When the games are completed, follow up on this center activity by working with the whole class to find the final makeup of the Olympic medal winners by country.
