- Provide rulers and/or other inch-long manipulatives for your students (Cuisenaire has a product called Inchworms that come in inch-long sections which are flexible and can be connected).
- Have your students create a simple chart with 3 columns labeled: OBJECT, ESTIMATE, ACTUAL.
- Students will pick objects around the room and estimate their length/width etc. They will then actually measure to find out the true measurement.
- Encourage your students to pick objects of varying sizes--some small, some medium-sized, some large.
