Center Focus

Always Say Never Sometimes

  1. At this center students will need to make a simple chart by folding a piece of paper into thirds. They should label the columns
    • ALWAYS
    • NEVER
    • SOMETIMES
  2. Have sets of cards ready similar to the following: One card will be a description, such as "round." There will then be a dozen or so other cards that Always have, Never have, or Sometimes have that property. For instance, the cards could say "Ball," "Watch Face," "Yield Sign."
  3. Students will choose a set of cards, write the description words as the title of their chart, and then will write all the other words into the appropriate columns.
  4. Depending on your kids' ability levels, you may want them to choose several different sets of cards to complete this center.
