Mini-Parade

  1. In center groups, have your students create "mini" floats that they feel would best represent the spirit of Veterans Day.
  2. They should first design the float on paper before they begin construction.
  3. Have many different materials available, including cardboard, posterboard, construction paper, yarn, cottonballs, paper rolls, and scrap material.
  4. After the floats are completed, have the students do a mini-parade around the classroom. Have them judge which one best honors veterans.
