Personal vs. Country Pride

  1. Ask your students to write about how the Olympic games differ from other competitions.
  2. They should discuss this from the athlete's perspective as well as including their opinion.
  3. You may want to give some of the following as ideas to consider:
    • personal vs. country pride
    • worldwide vs. local
    • country's expectations
    • pressure
    • media and fame
  4. Discuss this topic at the end of the week with your class.
