If I Were President...

  1. Have your students complete the phrase "If I Were President…"
  2. Their writing needs to include the issues that they feel are most important to the nation as well as their opinions of these issues.
  3. When writing this, your students should have an understanding of the role of the Presidency--to uphold the Constitution. Write the Presidential Oath on the board (it can be found in the Constitution).
  4. You may also encourage them to discuss present problems and how they would deal with them.
