Color Pastel Classmates

  1. Have students pose for each other at the art center. This works well if 2 or 3 people pose together.
  2. The other students will draw them as accurately as possible paying attention to detail. These should be full body drawings to give them experience with proportion.
  3. When students are done with the pencil drawings, they can complete the picture by using color pastels. They should keep the color as realistic as possible.
  4. Make a mini-artshow in your room by displaying these completed pictures. You can mount them on different color construction paper and label them like real art shows. Invite other classes and parents to come in for viewing and refreshments.
