National Olympic Trends

  1. There are often particular countries that tend to win medals in the same events during the Olympics year after year.
  2. Have your students look at the statistics for past Olympics to see which countries excel in certain events. These can be found in any almanac.
  3. They should then list the countries next to their best overall events in chart format.
  4. With this information, they can map out all of the countries and make up a key in order to show the events. They can use different colors or symbols to make the key.
