Flannel Board Phonics

  1. Separate a piece of tag board into 25 pieces.
  2. On five of the pieces, write letters that you are currently studying.
  3. On the rest of the pieces, draw pictures of items beginning with these letters, four for each.
  4. Attach a small scrap of flannel or sandpaper on each card.
  5. Provide a flannel board at the center and have students match the pictures to the letters with which they begin.
