Show Me The Money

Pin paper money (both bills and coins) to the bulletin board in groups of different amounts. Label the groups 1-10 and leave space for students to pin up the number amounts. Attach Velcro next to the groups of money where students can place numbers, dollar signs, and decimal cards that have Velcro on the back. Have your students prepare these cards ahead of time. For example, if you post one dollar bill, two quarters, a dime, and three pennies, you would need to put five Velcro places for students to attach numbers, dollar sign, and decimal point. You could also do this easily with flannel board or you could simply have students pin the cards onto the board. Have a self-check sheet ready for students to correct their work.
