For this matching activity, you will need to make a 6x6 grid, placing a tack in the top-middle portion of each square. Size the squares according to the dimensions of your bulletin board. Then, make 36 cards, punching a hole in the top of each one; make the cards the same size as the squares on the bulletin board. Half of these cards will be president's names (one on each) and the other half will be accomplishments or facts about their terms in office. Place these cards on the tacks with the blank side facing outward. Have your students work in pairs to play a matching game. They will match the facts to the presidents' names and compete to see who gets the most pairs. You may want to make several sets of these so students can learn different facts throughout the week or the time period that the interactive bulletin board is posted.
