Flags of the Olympics

An excellent way to make educational use of your bulletin board throughout the Olympic games is to have your students learn about world geography using the country flags. You will need to find pictures of many flags representing nations from all over the world. You can place these on the board with a stapler and then have students match them to the name of the country they represent. You can use name cards and velcro stripping to attach the country names. You can also place a map on the bulletin board, surround it with the pictures of the flags, and have students match the flags to the countries using yarn and tacks. You can easily find out which countries are participating in the Olympics by looking on the web or in almost any newspaper.
