Interactive Bulletin Boards

Art Styles

Create word cards for many different styles of art. Some of these might be Impressionist, Italian Renaissance, Cubism, Pointillism, etc. Obtain many prints from each category that for which you create a word card. You can also find pictures of artwork on the Internet or in art magazines. Attach the prints to heavy paper and laminate them so they last. Attach all of the word cards to the bulletin board leaving space around each one. Create a pocket in which to keep the prints somewhere on the board. Students can match the prints to the style by placing them around the name card. You can have tacks on the board and holes punched into the tops of the prints so that students can hang them where they belong. You may want to make a self-check sheet as well.
