Interactive Bulletin Boards

Animal Classification

Separate a bulletin board into 6 or more sections depending on the kind of animals to which your students are familiar. The most common categories are mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds, and fish. There are also more complex ones like arachnids(spiders) and cephalopods(octopus). Label the sections of the board. Have pictures of different animals representing all of the categories you wish to use. Mount and laminate these pictures for continued use. Punch a hole in the top of each one so that it can be hung over a tack on the board. Students will place all of the pictures in the corresponding section of the bulletin board. Have a self-check available for your kids.
