Interactive Bulletin Boards

Millennium Around the World

Have a map available showing time zones and the International Date Line. The first country to celebrate the new year was Kiribati, and the last was Western Somoa. Place the map on top of the bulletin board. Below the map have lines numbered 1-20 (Velcro strips on each line works well). Have name cards with cities or countries from different time zones, including one for the city you are in. Laminate these and place Velco strips on the back of the cards. Students can place these cards in order to show when they celebrated the millennium with the world.
