Computer Cards

Often in classrooms computers are used exclusively during free time and for publishing. In order to get more use from your computers in a variety of subject areas, make a card file catalog of computer activities. For example, using Oregon Trail, write assignments on the cards telling students to pick specific choices before starting the trek (food, wagons, etc). You may have them compare two different scenarios that they work through using the program and write a brief summary or graph the results. You can do this for most educational programs. This is also a good way to include computers in your center activity.
