Every month display a new author for your students to learn about. Display some biographical information about them as well as several of their books and/or poems. Have an area of the classroom (or bulletin board) devoted to the author of the month. You may also want to include a review section where the students can review and vote on the author's works after they have read them. To make this go quickly and smoothly, have author bins where you keep information about the author, pictures, poems, and books readily accessible. If you don't want to use bins you may use file folders where you can keep the information and have just the titles of the books handy.
