Weekly Graphs
Every morning have a graph posted for student voting. Try to provide a variety of topics as well as types of graphs (line, bar, etc.) At the end of the week, when all graphs are completed, place them into a "Weekly Graph Book." You can do this easily with a 18x12 piece of contruction paper folded with the graphs stapled inside. Attach a library card pocket to the back of the book where students can find blank index cards. They can use these cards to analyze the graphs of the week; have them make comments on the statistics shown on the graphs. This activity works well during center time.
