Organized Learning

Map the World

A fun way to begin each day is to have your students read newspaper articles to learn about current events. Have several of them share about what they learn with the rest of the class. Then you should have volunteers point out the locations referred to in the articles on the map so your students can picture where these things are happening and learn about world geography. You should use the map any and every time that you can. Any time a city, country, body of water, etc. is mentioned, have your students locate it on the map. You may also help to increase their understanding of geography by using the globe as well.
