Bell Work

Who Celebrates First?

Have your students locate the first and last places to celebrate the new year and millennium. Have them locate it on a world map in an atlas or other maps you may have on hand; also have your kids use a world time zone map to compare time differences between these two places and find how many hours difference there is between where they are and where these countries are. (The countries are Kiribati (first) and Western Samoa (last).)
