You will need to cut out many pictures of different kinds of animals for this activity. You may get these from magazines or use clip art. Put a pile of pictures at each table and have the students work in a group to sort the animals into categories. You may want to let them simply sort them without any direction; on the other hand, you can tell them categories into which they need to be sorted (i.e. mammal, reptile, etc.).
