Always have a list of activities available for those students who finish work quickly. Other than a list, you can also have a basket or bin of possible choices available including such things as magazines, flash cards, puzzle books, math problems, educational games, etc. However, try not to include any activity that students absolutely love to do, such as computer games or puppet shows, because they may hurry to finish their work and not do their best.
