Room Organization

Reading Center

Help encourage your kids to read and want to go to the reading center by making it cozy and comfortable. Try to obtain pillows from parents or local thrift shops. For chairs, use old tires painted with fun colors. The kids will love helping you paint the tires. They can put a pillow on the tire and they'll have a fun place to read! Another possible seat is an old tree stump or a blow-up raft. Ask parents to help you to make the reading center an enjoyable place for your students. You can also make a tree out of butcher paper and ribbon. Crumble up brown butcher paper to make the stump and hang green streamers from the ceiling to make the leaves.
