Room Organization

Pencil Pockets

Obtain enough library card pockets for all your students. (Try to get self-adhesive kind...they work better!) Have students write their name in large letters on the pocket and then decorate them. Place them on a large posterboard labeled "Pencil Pockets." Every day, on the way into the classroom, students will get their pencils and they will leave them there at the end of the day. This will help solve the problem of missing pencils and it is also a good way to take attendance quickly.
