Have your students work through this problem:

How much soil (in cubic feet) can this trapezoid-shaped dump truck hold? H: 6', L: 20', W: 4' at base, 8' at top. The formula for the area of a trapezoid is 1/2 height x (base 1 + base 2).

Answer --> 720 cubic feet.
