Sponge Activities

Know Your Shapes

Make a simple T-chart on the board and write the names of several different shapes. Have shapes cut out and ready beforehand. Use plain shapes, but also use pictures of things that form shapes (ball, TV, egg, stop sign, etc.). Laminate the pictures and shapes so that they last. Paste magnetic strips on the back of the pictures or just use tape to attach to the board. Let kids take turns putting the shapes in the proper section of the chart. As you know, they love going up to the board!
