Bell Work

Check Your Pulse

Have your students check their pulse by counting the number of beats in one minute. Have them record this number. Then have them do 50 jumping-jacks and check their pulse once more. Have them compare the different heart rates. What do they notice? Have students compare results with one another and discuss what factors lead to the change in heart rate between rest and exercise.
