Make a list of Themes or topics that you plan to use, have used, or might be interested in using for the school year. In the beginning of the year or before a new unit of study, have students rate the topics according to their own interest. Have them suggest any other topics they would be interested in learning about. Use their responses to help you decide what themes to teach. As we all know, if students are interested in the topics taught, lessons go much more smoothly.
