Here's a good word problem for your kids:

You heard on the radio at 6 o'clock this morning that the temperature was -12 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature rises 3 degrees each hour until 3 o'clock (when the maximum temperature is reached), what is the high temperature for the day?
